I have made a sampling of the movies released this year (2008). These are some of the films I enjoyed watching this year. Hopefully you will see some films here that are worth watching.
WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS: I guess it was a typical night out in Vegas. Joy and Jack, who had just met, wake up to discover that they are married. When they win a $3 million jackpot, there is a debate on who gets the money, so they ask a judge for a decision. The judge decides that for the next few months they must stay together, and give their marriage a chance. With lots of money at stake, they each try to get the other to give up, as both desire to get the money for themselves.
10,000 B.C.: This film will take you back 1,000's of years. When a warlike tribe storms the Yaghai people, they kidnap the beautiful Evolet. D'Leh, a young hunter who is in love with her, leads a group of hunters to pursue the warlords, and save her, and the rest of the captured tribe members.
FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL: Overwhelmed with grief after a tough split with Sarah (a television actor), Peter finally plans to go on a trip to Hawaii to start anew and forget about Sarah. As fate would have it, when he checks into the resort hotel, the first thing he sees is Sarah and her new boyfriend, who is a mega rock star. The stage is set for a thoughtful romantic comedy.
THE DARK KNIGHT: In this film Batman, and law enforcement officials, are taking the major criminals off the streets. This has effectively reduced crime, until a new criminal mastermind shows up, and things get a lot worse. Batman is in a battle now, as criminal mastermind, the Joker, has released an overwhelming assault on Gotham City.
TROPIC THUNDER: Filled with great actors the genre of the film is a classic spoof. Things are going bad. To get his super star cast to see the movie be a success, the seemingly bold director into the wild jungle, and leaves them on their own. He hopes to overwhelm them into producing a war classic, which will be caught on hidden cameras in the area. When the director blows up on an old French land mine, the spoiled actors are on there own, and they start acting, thinking it's a big set, but things are getting very, very real. Written, directed, and acted in, by Ben Stiller.
STEP BROTHERS: When two child like older men, who both live at home with one parent, find themselves having to live in the same bedroom because their mom and dad get married, you have one crazy situation. Casting John Reilly and Will Ferrell in those roles, and this seems to be a great recipe for a funny movie. This comedy looks like a sure thing if your looking for some laughs.
MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: This is obviously the next edition to the big hit film Madagascar. The small group of animals desire to return to New York's famous Central Park Zoo, and go back to the lives they know. As opposed to going home, due to the Penguins, they are heading off to have more adventures first.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This movie tells the story of Dr. Bruce Banner, who has become the green Hulk. This film is about the marvel comic character the green Hulk. Key cast members are Edward Norton, Tim Roth and Liv Tyler. Louis Leterrier directs this film. The film genre is science fiction.
BOLT: Bolt: This film is an animated comedy. Bolt, is a dog who is an actor, who in his role on television, is a super hero dog. The thing about Bolt is that he honestly believes he is this super hero dog with superpowers. After he is unexpectedly thrown into the real world, he discovers that he is just a dog. On a journey to get back home, he is aided by Rhino and Mittens, his newly found hamster and cat friends.
Most people buy or rent these movies, and view them on their home entertainment system. A new way people are acquiring movies is through downloads from the internet. There are websites that will download tons of different movies. - 21704
